We all know that the value of a blockchain depends upon what is built upon it. Ultimately, it is the applications that are going to drive the traffic and increase the transactions. Without that, a blockchain is really just processing empty blocks resulting in nothing.

BEOS is a fork of the EOS blockchain. It is also pulling in the Bitshares token creation network to provide token portability between the two chains. This middle chain will be able to deliver Bitshares based tokens throughout the entire EOS network.

The plan is also to provide Jurisdictional Agility. This means that one is free to decide where the transactions are conducted.

These features of the network can make it attractive to many businesses. There are a host of applications already announced which will also enhance the entire ecosystem.

Sovereign Sky

This will be a global satellite network that is design to bring Internet service to the most impoverished places on the planet while providing a currency which can eradicate poverty. It will be a space based blockchain that consists of 36 satellites. The goal is global Wi-Fi coverage.

The first satellite was launched in December. At present, it is being used by another company under a 6 month contract when it will be turned over to the Sovereign Sky team.

This is an automated cryptocurrency trading platform that enables anyone, amateur or professional, to acquire algorithms for automated trading. Here we are going to see a peer-to-peer printing platform created that will, ultimately, house the digital files which people can download and print out on their printers. This is going to be an enormous field over the next decade changing the face of manufacturing. Eventually, we will likely see most items used in the average household printed on demand by an at-home 3D printer.

Combining 3D printing and blockchain makes a lot of sense. Using this platform, anyone who creates a digital scan will be able to upload it AND profit from it. End users can pay a fee using the cryptocurrency, download the scan, and print it out. We obviously see the "middleman" eliminated from this picture which will drive down costs while rewarding those who create content.

Estimates vary about how big this will be but the consensus is that, by 2030, more than half of what is manufactured will be done so on a 3D printer.

Mission Space

Four telescopes will be placed in space to enable astronomers to stargaze with something exponentially more powerful than their earthbound telescopes. Half the time is going to be reserved for the rental of these telescopes by amateurs.

BEOS is also going to have nodes on these telescopes which will help to run the network from space.

These are the projects that I could find announced so far. They are all bold initiatives which means the payoff to humanity could be huge. To me, they are aligned with blockchain and cryptocurrency principles of freedom, the uplifting of humanity, and the age of abundance.

None of this is guaranteed to take place. The BEOS blockchain is running with blocks being produced (every half second I believe). The rainfall is taking place for 89 days which will be followed up with a ramdrop. As mentioned, the first Sovereign Sky satellite is up and will be a node (acting most likely as a wallet) in the next few months. So we do see some progress made.

I look at this as a long-term project. Dealing with satellites and space-based programs is not a rapid process. It is also very costly meaning some serious funding is going to be required from somewhere. Fortunately, Wall Street and VCs are awash with money these days so the entities, when properly structured, can get it.

Ultimately, this is the type of project that will benefit the entire industry. It adds total legitimacy to all we are doing because it could attract major businesses.

And besides, to me, this stuff is just really freaking cool.
