Fellow steemians of great minds, it's with great pains and heart filled with sorrow that am writing this post. As you can see from my introduce yourself post, am from one of the recently most affected region of Nigeria that the Fulani menace is taking lives almost on daily basis, Adamawa state. The north in general is 90% resistant farmers who solely survive on their farm products for clothing, feeding and all the necessities of life. However, recently the herdsmen have refused to allow them pursue their lively hood because the Fulani's have turned this farms to their grazing grounds. Even those that risked their lives and managed to protect their farm product to maturity could not harvest or take their harvest home as the same Fulani's follow them even to their homes and kill those they can kill and pursue the survivals, then feed their cows with whatever is left behind.FB_IMG_1515771702863.jpg
Then am forced to ask, are this cattle better than human lives or are this herdsmen invincible or untouchable and then I realized am in Africa where tribalism and self interest precedes general or public interest. Thousands of lives have been lost to this menace and this is concentrated mostly in the North Central states to the North Eastern States and sparsely South East and West. In all, human lives are been wasted and yet the government of Nigeria has not taken any drastic step to stop it from happening. Recently, the secretary to the state government of Adamawa State made a public statement that the Fulanis carries AK 47 automatic rifle for protection disregarding the Nigerian law on carrying of arms by civilians. He is a Fulani man so no questions asked, he maintains his appointment. The Emir of Kano has also come out to say he is the national Patron of the herdsmen organization popularly known as miyetti Allah in Nigeria. He is supported by the Lamido of Adamawa and the Sultan of Sokoto in Nigeria, no wonder the Fulani's are untouchable and this is a clear indication that the end to this killings is not anywhere near.

Very interesting post. A friend of mine was farmer near to Jos and recently he gave up because of the Fulani. The place was each time more dangerous.
