This poor old girl is laying alongside a net loft in Alert Bay on Malcolm Island. She was probably a good little money maker in her day.
It used to be a family could make a good living gill netting and trolling with a small boat like this. Unfortunately, since the decline of the commercial fishing industry in British Columbia, many boats have met faits similar to this. I guess that's what they call "progress".
Sad to see someones hard work slowly rot away like that. Great photo though.

It is sad to see. Back in the day they used small boats, simply equipped which were inexpensive to operate. It's different these days. Thanks for the vote.
