Photo 22-05-2015, 11 03 21.jpg

Canon 700D // 50mm 1.8f Canon lens

Location: Nepal | Kathmandu temples
Year: 2015

We headed there after the first earthquake to see what we could do to support through Bridge2 (a charity my mother founded back when the Tsunami hit Sri Lanka - www.bridge2.gg).

On our first day the second earthquake hit, often referred to as an 'aftershock' - it was 7.3M!

There are a few more pictures here - https://www.sammarkjames.com/photography/photo-journalism/nepal-earthquake - one day I'll actually get round to writing about my experience there and what we did.

Thanks to @daveks & @papa-pepper for organising and @jamtaylor for judging the comp :)

That certainly made me stop and click on the link! Great eye catching photo!
And please do write about your time in Nepal! I strongly believe that making aid and charity work relatable, and detailing the humanity of those you help make others more likely to do something good in the world. Humans will help their friends before stale statistics on a chart: so we must show everyone that those aren't just numbers on a chart, they are just friends we haven't met yet.

Edit: and welcome to Steemit!

Thank you! You gave me the final push I needed to get started (see my posts). I'll try to do a part of a story at least once a week...

Awesome, I look forward to reading the posts! :)
Yes, take your time and space it out, once a week sounds good. I also checked the pictures on your website, very powerful stuff, with a few words added it will be outstanding.

Nice pose :) Looks like it is dreaming of a better life :)

How long did u wait for the monkey to take this posture?))

Surprisingly not long, he was acting nonchalant but he knew...

What a professional picture. Nice focus, I love the fact thisone is B&W, and a real unusual composition. Great!

That is a great shot.

Thanks @jamtaylor ! I laughed a lot taking this picture, the monkeys were being very playful.

If monday was an animal, it would be that monkey

Such an amazing photo! Wow that must of been terrifying! Thats a huge quake... Ohh my god my heart broke for the people of Nepal. I was there six years ago and would go back in a heart beat. The kindest most lovely people and such beautiful culture. So wonderful you went to help I had wished with all my heart that I could have... Just had my baby boy at that time.
