Cord cutting is something that the traditional media companies were dealing with since 2010. This trend is not slowing down any.

In an effort to combat this, these entities started offering mini-packages to try and recoup some of the losses. Initially, services such as Sling were popular with viewers.

While these efforts met som success, recent numbers tell a different story. Last quarter, more than 1 million customers cut the cord by cancellng their television service. The growth rate in the mini-packages also saw a slow down compared to where they were before that.
