I had a dream!

in calltoaction •  6 years ago  (edited)

I had a dream that STEEM went to the moon.

A dream that it went from 0.4$ to 44$ in 44 seconds!

That our pockets were so full that it rained on the poor.

That Ned could play all day and no one would mind it or care.

It was a beautiful dream, that was.

But it was only a dream and it only ever will be

..... unless the community comes together!

Hahaha. Im BSing you of course..
This is how you moon STEEM:

  1. You get someone that the community likes to create a sales pitch or at least share it. You make the pitch easy to understand and easy to spread. (Something like the Steemit fact i shared yesterday)
  2. You sprinkle some drama on it (You point out how other blockchains dont compete and their hypemen are lying)
  3. You get a couple whales to do a call to action and vote those who provide proof of shill and spread those FACTS on twitter, reddit, whatever.
  4. You win...

Good plan, I like it. Some people might wrap around your plan a word: "marketing". You need a budget to do that, you take financial risks, you need return. Not many people around have the kind of budget that is needed at the ready. Or if they have the budget, they don't believe it's the right moment to do that. Ned focuses on getting the SMTs out first.

Hehe. Yeah, no big marketing plan needed. Only a few cents from whales per comment. Thats the beauty of it. 😉

You seem to underestimate the effort required to keep track of all the people who come up with "proof of shill" and whether you have upvoted one of their comments or not yet (perhaps because they have Twitted about steem but didn't post anything you can upvote lately)

Your plan requires serious organization and coordination methinks. Those take time and cost money

On an unrelated note, you have chosen only 24 witnesses out of 30, 6 places lie fallow ...

Allow me to offer a little help.

Well no, Sorin. It needs minimal organization. So minimal that it would take a person 5 minutes per day to organize themselves to track the lists.

You literally have a work force ready to work at the click of the upvote button.
My god, the potential there!

The level of marketing incompetence found here is astounding.
But then again i cant really be surprised, i did get one of the utopian marketing heads flash their credentials at me, tell me how great they are and then fail miserably with the Utopian crowdfund. haha

My point is, the lack of marketing skill here is outstanding which is why your comment is expected... Not to sound condescending ofc, but you did comment to get me to witness vote you. :)

Then I probably don't get your plan.

Anyway, to create a "sales pitch" I believe there is a precondition: having a clear mission and vision. What do we stand for ? Clearly the "social media on blockchain" is not cutting it anymore. We can and should be more than that, but what ?

Have a look at this post: https://steempeak.com/@sorin.cristescu/steem-social-lab-we-need-a-charter

The part about having "a couple of whales" vote those who provide "proof of shill" is a bit hazy for me. You are certainly aware that @nathanmars is already doing something similar on Twitter. Which is good, but doesn't seem to be anywhere near enough ...

Indeed, there is a lack of marketing skill around here, I agree with you. The best marketing I know of and which is at an arms' length is the @appics team

On the other topic, why wouldn't you witness vote @lux-witness ? Do you see a compelling reason not to ? Regardless of me commenting.

Actually, you should have approved @lux-witness way before, when you read my first article.

I remember for instance you commenting on a post of mine a few weeks ago :

How come you didn't approve our witness back then already ?
