That is interesting, I did not know about the poppy cultivation in California. I am certain the many seriously injured soldiers were thankful for it's existence. I can remember growing up in a time where the average white person was very racist and given to discrimination. I can remember having to witness one of my friends being beat-up for having dark-skin, someone put the blame on him for a theft he did not commit. To me it was a nightmare as well, I grew up a kid who would confront any remaining elders about their bigoted racist comments. I defend the case very well.
