Whats a trip is while that is true, on my daily bike ride home as well as any other random day its not out of the question for me to see someone walking around with their hunting rifle. Hawaiians in general are not really bothered by guns, just our corrupt politicians aligned with the democratic view that guns are bad. I also abstain from religion and politics. I just want to live my life and not have someone bothering me with stupid laws...

Interesting that you would say that. I have lived on the Big Island off and on since I was 8. I have NEVER seen anyone open carry.

I don't mean walking around town with a rifle or anything, I just meant that I will see guys getting ready to hunt on the side of the road when I'm riding up saddle or even on my street and I live in Hilo.
I don't mean like having your side arm on your hip in a holster or anything. I have only lived here the last 3 years, but my friend here is really into guns so maybe its just the people I'm around. They all hunt and have dogs and such. It just seemed fairly common to me that they keep their tools in the trunk of their car. My buddy on Kauai pretty much always has his rifle in the back of his truck. I was just trying to point out that while our laws suck there are lots of people that actively use their guns as tools.
My coworker even wears a holster on his hip every day in protest that he can't carry his gun. I wouldn't call what I see as open carry though so I have probably never seen that as well. It just seems like in general people here aren't scared of guns like I've seen in other places. Members of my family won't even enter the house of someone who owns a gun, thats how many in California feel.

There is an active hunting culture there for sure. I hope someone fights this unconstitutional play by the corrupt cops.
