For today's weed news we go to the great state of North Dakota.
The recreational Cannabis industry is booming and with November's elections just around the corner, even more states could soon be joining the party!
While most people are closely watching Michigan as it inches closer and closer to possible legalization in a few weeks, it is not the only state with a chance legalize recreational weed this November.
That is because, according to a brand new poll, 51% of likely voters from North Dakota also feel that cannabis should be allowed for anyone over 21 in ND.
And that is exactly what Measure 3, which will be getting voted on in just a few weeks, wants to make happen. The measure would basically legalize recreational weed for anyone over the age of 21. In addition, if the measure becomes law, North Dakota would be one of the only states that does not call for a limit on how much weed someone can recreationally possess!
It seems that only 36% of people polled said that they were against the measure.
This is the first time that the numbers have come back in favor of legalization in any poll about the weed in North Dakota to date. Until now, the numbers basically showed the exact opposite - with close to 50% against and mid-30% in support of legalization.
These new numbers come as a surprise to many because ND has traditionally been one of the most conservative, anti-cannabis strongholds.
"Despite a big-money funded misinformation campaign from the opposition, this poll reveals that most North Dakotans are ready to end the failed prohibition of marijuana in the state," said Eric Altieri, the executive director of NORML.
So if you live in North Dakota and you have ever smoked cannabis before, or are a supporter of the movement or anything else in between positive to do with weed, please make sure you take action this November and make your voice heard by voting for Measure 3.
You know you guys should be allowed to smoke weed and buy it at a store like the whole West Coast already does.
I do think it's important to remember that polls are just estimates and they are often incorrect. If you recall, many newpaper polls and headlines a couple years back, predicted with 90%+ certainty, that Hillary Clinton was going to become president.
That being said, it's within your reach you guys... so go out there and make it happen y'all.
