Simply put, cannabis helps me enjoy the things I love. Namely, food and sight-seeing. The only noticeable visual aspects of being "high on cannabis" is that things seem more "vivid" and "intense". Focus skyrockets to an extent when enjoying tasks you love. Being able to be in a meditative state no matter where you are is helpful to reducing stress.
Stress causes cancer, high blood pressure and many horrible ailments. Cannabis is an amazing de-stressing tool. Others make similar claims when defending their substance of choice whether it be cigarettes or alcohol, but those two substances also cause cancers, high blood pressure and horrible ailments..
Cannabis does not have serious negative side effects (none that are life-threatening to say the least.)
If you want to know my number 1 reason for enjoying cannabis, it is the diversity among strains... The flavours and smells are so aromatic when you find the strain that really appeals to you.
You may have only been around certain types of marijuana, but I assure you that you can find marijuana that smells like blueberry pies, or fresh strawberries.. Cannabis being a diverse plant, has genetic similarities with many other plants so it can smell as if it were a blueberry plant.. That is the power of Terpenes!!

It can be good for the health but only in the right hands!! (medical cannabis or home-grown is way safer any day than buying it off a random person.)

Agreed, this is why maintaining a constant Ph level is important. Constant, more towards the lower side of the acidic level brings out the smell more. I was never into those smell enhancers.
