Marijuana will retail for $10 a gram by the Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation. It will be sold from behind the counter to anyone 19 years or older. So that's $35, if you use to picking up 1/2 a quarter.
Liberals and New Democrats voted in favor of the legislation Tuesday, Dec 12, 2017, while the Progressive Conservatives opposed it. The results were 63 MPPs for the bill and 27 against.
Marijuana to be legalized effective July 1st, 2018. You can grow total of 4 plants in your home. The 1 meter height rule was not added to the bill for height restrictions for the plants grown at home. And you are allowed to carry up up to 30 grams publicly.
Ontario Cannabis Retail Corporation is a subsidiary of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. They will open 40 stores in Ontario by July 2018, and 150 stores by 2020.
The remaining illegal storefront “dispensaries” still operating will be forced out of business under threat of cash fines of up to $1 million and jail terms as long as two years less a day.

It's definitely open season for the black market. Even right now with over 100 stores opened as privately owned weed dispensaries across the greater Toronto area, they are still not enough to handle the demand. There are line ups out the front door on busy times.
It's true, 40 stores won't be enough. I am sure OCRC will promote online sales to be the best option for sale.
$10 a gram, WTF!!! That's insane. In Kenya (& Africa presumably) you can get that for $3 at most, sorry man.

Exactly, the price is high. You can already buy from dispensaries that are selling for $9 a gram for medium quality weed. Just sounds logical that weed will still be sold illegal through the streets at prices most likely around $6 to $7 a gram. Wow $3 a gram that's crazy cheap.

Finally it's about time Ontario hoped on this. Because I have a feeling there's going to be alot of unemployed males who is gonna need the green this summer if you know what I mean...with today's current climate..
