Carbon Tax Is A Con

in carbon •  8 years ago

Can someone please explain to me how carbon tax is going to save the world. It's just another form of tax grab that most people are going a long with. They are believing the lie that has been told for so many years.

First they were pushing global warming and when that didn't work after articles came out that numbers were fudged and that the doom scenario hasn't happened they changed it to climate change and that only humans are responsible for this. Don't get me wrong, climate change is real except this is a normal process, from planet alignments, sun activity and a small amount of human activity. Yes pollution is a problem, lakes and rivers around the world need cleaning up and fukushima has never been fixed, but this is enslavement of the west and the young have been brainwashed into believing this through the education system.

Do you take the red pill or the blue?

Carbon tax is in place to decrease the price gap between dirty energy and clean energy. It isn't going to save the world at all, but it will make green energy choices seem like a better choice. If one option is taxed a bunch, while another option provides a tax cut, most people will will take the tax cut.

As for the global warming thing, yes the earth goes through natural cycles, however what we are doing is making it much worse. Don't pay attention to the BS from lobbyists trying to keep us on fossil fuel, they make up whatever they can to get certain groups to lobby behind them to save a buck. They want your dollars in their pockets, instead of the pockets of the people who came up with a better way.

how much is much worse? How much is the sea level rising? How does cyclonic activity compare now to the past? What is the average global temperature compared to the thirties? or better yet, to the Minoan warm period?

All good questions...
Go in a garage and shut the door, add a few plants, then turn on the car, how long before the carbon fumes start to effect the room? It isn't noticeable at first, but eventually it will have a noticeable effect... Next try it with an electric car... Notice any difference?

Obviously this would need to be scaled up for a world view, including the scale of time, but one is better on that closed environment than the other. Just because the world can take a beating, doesn't mean we should be constantly giving it one.

how big is the garage? How long does it take a car to affect the air in something the size the superdome? Have you any idea how batteries are made? Why is mobile pollution worse than stationary pollution?

Time isn't a factor.. It's a made up construct. But if something kills you in five minutes or ten minutes are you still dead? And yeah lithium mines suck, but so do coal mines.... Lastly not sure if it is worse or not.... My bike doesn't pollute. I consume as little as possible and don't pay much in taxes as all my income is bitcoin.... Carbon tax has little to no effect on this guy at all

time is definitely a factor I'm unconcerned about anything that is likely to kill me in one thousand years. You're logical fallacy is invalid comparison, we were discussing the options for driving automobiles. I haven't seen a coal powered automobile lately have you?

I think you are doing the right thing. Ride you bike, don't buy anything, that leaves more for me.

I'm on no sleep, I shouldn't comment on no sleep because my logic gets flawed. I do want this place to be better for future generations though. What scientists say 100% depends on who is paying them.... So who knows what's really going on eh

extended lack of sleep leads to insanity...every time.

Carbon tax is not enough to "save the world" It would help at decreasing emissions and improving research about other energy sources, but in order to stop global warmign much more drastical measures should be made. But don´t worry as those measures will not be taken as politicians only think at short-term.

In the last decades Earth temperature is not correlated anymore with sun activity but with CO2 levels.

Planet alignments have a non-significant effect in radiation. Furthermore, they are periodical.

Absolutely correct, @englishgiant007 – it's another robbing scam which will reap the tax money in favour of those who polute the planet by the greatest scale!

I don't know, I used to believe there is a massive conspiracy here, but as I research it, I believe some of the climate change is real. Of course the elites will spin it for their own benefits.

However I don't necessarly see carbon taxes as a bad thing. This is of course if they eliminate the income tax, and replace the income tax with a carbon tax.

Then it could actually reform the economy for the better, while also saving the environment.

If they don't eliminate the income tax, and just slap the carbon tax just as another tax to extort people. Then fuck them, fuck them all.

In that case it will be an obvious money grab, and they should go to hell for it. But otherwise it would be an opportunity to actually make taxation reasonable (stop taxing income, prosperity, and start taxing bad behavior, like pollution).

when has any tax ever been eliminated? If a carbon tax is enacted it will be in addition to, not in place of.

If that is the case then fuck them. But if not, then this could be the perfect opportunity to eliminate the income tax, which is the most vicious and disgusting tax you can imagine.

It depends how it will roll out, in either case, we don't have a say in it, it will be our "representatives" that will decide it.

Pretty much, yeah.

Trump is an anomaly though, no one saw that coming and he's the first president in the history of the United states who had held no previous elected office before he become president. He's a total wild card.

I like what he's doing mostly. I'd suggest you consider supporting him. How have the alternatives worked out for ya?

I'm not american. But he has already been exposed as a globalist, and I don't really see how can anyone support him:

Odd for globalist to want to put up a wall, kick out illegal immigrants, and punish american companies that leave. Odd for a globalist to promote protectionism. Sound's like a nationalist to me.

He hasn't done anything yet. But anyway it's too early to tell.

But just based on the video above you can see that he is clearly flip flopping everywhere. I am not sure if I can trust somebody like that.

Do you know that to be true or did you hear it on CNN?
He has done quite a bit.. the media either downplays it or doesn't report it atall
Have you ever engaged in high level negotiations?

odd..the market seems to think he's done something..

Anthropogenic climate change is a con.
