Day 1 : Regrowing a carrot top

Today I wanted to make some steamed carrots so I headed to the fridge in search of the perfect one. When I open the fridge drawer I noticed that each carrot had little plants on the top. Then an idea came to mind, what if I cut the top and place in water what if it grows a new carrot. I grabbed a cutting board and knife to start my experiment.

I felt like cutting it about an inch and a half from the top would be a good enough size.

I found this little straggler in the bunch of carrots. Thought I'd place it in water as well to see if it grew.

I placed both the carrot top and the extra piece in a plastic pot i bought online . I chose this one because it has a draining top with a removable bottom. I thought it would be good for the roots to grow down through the holes.

I took some angled shots to compare pictures of growth later on.
