Fiesta ST come equipped with 205/40 R17 Bridgestone RE050A, a "Max Performance Summer tyre", per Bridgestone. These rubbers are made of specialized compound, couple with steel belt and nylon thread to provide a firm base for an aggressive and asymmetrical thread design that maximize grip, agility and road response.

RE050A never let me down. The dry grip is phenomenal, that the car never let loose even in the most difficult turns. However, the wet drip is just good enough for summer downpour, and since Malaysia is a tropical country with plenty of rainfall, it tend to get to my nerve sometimes. I've been daily driving this Fiesta ST, and no thanks to Malaysia's sub-par road surface, the ups of these tyre quickly become a numbing downside, they are very firm, and not comfortable at all, especially during long drive.

These tyre lasted for about 32,000km before they are completely gone and up for a replacement. (Image credit: Bridgestone)

Pit Stop

Two weeks ago, I was driving casually on NSE, heading north and just before my exit thru Rawang South Exit, I hit some road derbies and it tore apart one of the shoulder grooves' reinforce structure, thus prompting me to make a tyre change asap.

Without any hesitation, one of my buddy Blan suggest me for a set of Yokohama ADVAN Neova® AD08R. I must confess that I'm very attracted to that suggestion, but since I'm pretty broke my rationale take over, and rejects that proposal for good, largely because I've dealt with my share of aquaplaning nightmare before.

Then come Dex suggesting me with this new kid around the block. I google the tyre, read some review and she finally have my heart. I call up my favorite tyre shop, KLH @ Jalan Ipoh, ordered the tyre for less than 400 buck a piece. YAY!

In case you have no idea how AD08R look like

Quick Review: Zestino 07R

Since I'm unable to acquire stock sized tyre, and I don't want to wait any longer, I then settled with a much more conventional size of 215/40 R17. The new size come with one unintended pros, the increased height of sidewall also increased the overall comfort of my ride. DOUBLE YAY!

This new rubber are on the quite side, not surprising since it's still very new. The grip level is also phenomenal, even with my limited time with it, I'm rather confident that they will out perform the stock RE050A. Stay tuned for detailed review in near future!.

Hi there, those wheels are nice but the 205/40 r17 is a low profile tyre .I had them once but my car was really uncomfortable especially like you said during the long drive so i got some nice r16.I can tell you 16" are better and tyres for them are much cheaper. Somethimes aesthetic much suffer .Try also Dunlop .

If I can find anything nice, might go for the switch, but then 4x108 pcd is very rare in Malaysia.
