So I get in the Stag the other day for a quick trip to the shops to get some stuff to make dinner and i hear a sound as im driving..... "wick wick wick wick wick". as speed up or slow down the sound increases and decreases respectively. My mind searches the reasons while im driving. A flat ? no the car isnt pulling in any direction. Something suck to my tyre? maybe....

The shops are only 2 min away from my place so i figure i will just check when i get to the shops. i get out and push on the rubber all around. pressure seems ok. I run my hands over the surface of the tyres seems ok.... i cant reach the inner of the tyres that well but give it a best og getting in there. AH ha!!!! found you, you little sucker. they is a shred of tryre hanging off, this cant be good. further inspection reveals some heavy camber wear on the rear passenger wheel. down through the canvas and through to the belts, ouchie!!!!

My rubber :(

Look at the Damage

No Really Look at the Damage!!!! LOL.

Ok so off comes the rims and we have to throw on some stockers kicking about so i don't have an incident on the way to the to my local tyre shop JAX in Liverpool. she look a bit odd and more like a boat than ever before, but its a means to an end. there tyre pressures are low so we hit the servo to get some air in there so the car can drive properly. while im cruising around i can see the people looking at the car like im out to do some burnouts with stockers on the rear and aftermarket rims upfront, lol. there will be no skids with my car in this condition... not today my young peeps, not today.

So i head down to JAX in Liverpool to get my situation sorted out and unfortunately they don't have the matching rubber i need in stock , they can order it in though. after thinking about my options i decide to get them to order in what i need and i will wait till Monday to get the job done.... better to wait and do it right, but no cruising over the weekend :(
oh well, not now but soon... stay posted for part 2 when she gets fixed up :)

It does have a bit of a burnout car look to it with the stockers on the rear, I like it lol :)

Was it bad?

Not really i caught it early enough and it didnt pop on me while driving.

Hnnghh Toyo R1R, what's your review on this tires?

they arent bad, i have 280rwkw running on them and they dont tend to spin too much powering down on straights. cornering is good, hold well. they ran flat a couple of times due to rim cracks and held up well, didnt egg, other rubber i have had will egg as soon as tyre pressure falls below recommended lowest running pressures. i wouldn't say they are the best out there but pretty good for what i have done with the car. that bbeing said i am replacing them with a set of nittos for now so much of a muchness really.
