Cars, a creation made to bring people from point A to point B. It has grown over the decades they have excisted. In today's world, cars are so much more than just a transportation device. For some people, they are a way of living, cars can define people who they realy are. In the latest decades, cars have really grown in technology and bodywork and it has become so much more than driving alone. Today I want to show you 10 of the newest pionneers that you should be excited for, that will come to the auto market in the future. These cars will set the direction of the future in the auto industry.
5. Tesla Model 3 - 2018
Let's start with the big one of the following year, Tesla's latest car, the model 3. The Model 3 is not just another revolutionary piece in Elon Musk’s long line of accomplishments. It’s also the car that should make high-tech, classy all-electrics available to the masses. It'l only cost you about 35.000 dollars to get your hands on one, which is really cheap for a Tesla car. It’s still a work in progress so I wouldn’t get too attached to the cues presented at Model 3’s revealing last year. However, we do know it’ll be a sedan with at least 215 miles of range and Tesla Autopilot feature as standard. Both rear and all-wheel drive setups will be offered as well, and so will larger batteries for additional range.
Tesla Model 3 doesn’t only look like the most revolutionary of cars recently presented. It’s also one of the best cars 2018 has to offer. And the numbers don't lie, there have already been over 150.000 orders thus far and with good reason. It's going to be the car of the year if you look at Tesla's reputation. Since Tesla’s planning to put a maximum of 75,000 of them to the streets a year, I imagine waiting lists will be long. That’s why you should take 2018 with a grain of salt. Not everyone will be able to get one at first.
4. Lamborghini Urus - late 2018
The next big thing on the list is none other than the Lamborghini Urus. The first SUV Lamborghini has ever produced (apart from the LM002 back in the '80's wich was more of a military vehicle). It's the newest craze from every car maker in this decade and that's because the SUV and crossover “loyalty rate” has grown from just under 53 percent in 2012 to more than 66 percent through the first four months of 2017. even though the Urus will be for the richer people among us, it's still something to look out for! this exotic SUV won’t be powered by 10 or 12-cylinders, but this in-house built twin-turbo V8 should be more than sufficient to move what’ll become the heaviest Lamborghini in production. Apparently, Urus will develop around 650 horsepower which puts it above the most powerful Lamborghini Huracan. Even entry-level flagship Aventador isn’t all that more powerful with 691 ponies.
The Lamborghini Urus should share the same platform as Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. That will lower the production cost, but don’t worry – future Urus owners will still have to pay at least around $200,000 for one. Interestingly, Lamborghini is also preparing the hybrid model which puts emphasis on efficiency, rather than on performance. Hybrid Urus should, however, arrive at a later date.
3. BMW Concept X7 iPerformance - 2019
The BMW X7 was anounced to early because of leaked pictures of the car, it should've officially been announced on IAA in Frankfurt. The X7 is BMW's most luxurious SUV to date, as is the 7 series the most luxurious sedan that BMW produces. As the name states, it's probably going to be a hybrid, which is pretty common nowadays from big car brands. It is a very large vehicle with 7 seats and full of the newest technology BMW has to offer.
Not much else is yet known about the X7 iPerformance, but there will certainly be more information on the way in the future.
2. Land Rover Defender DC100 - 2019
Very little is know about the new model Land Rover is going to bring on the market, but we do know it is going to come out in 2019. Production of the old Defender stopped back in 2015 which was predictable as the Defender had a dated and old look that dated back to the 70's with it's design.
The cars are still very expencive to buy because they are reliable and good workhorses and tend to never quit. It always had a good reputation and we should hope that Land Rover sticks to their reputation with the newest defender. Prices for a factory new one won't be cheap but they are still unknown. Let's hope the new design of the Defender, if that'll even be its name, won't put the old name to waste as many other car makers are doing excactly that in recent years.
1. Porsche EV sedan - 2020
On the last spot we have Porsche's answer to Teslas model S. The EV is going to be a fully electric vehicle, just like the Model S. There is still a long way to go and it is nowhere near complete, but it is certainly coming. It'l be the first car ever from Porsche to be fully electric and it should have a range of aprox. 500 km (311 miles) with a top speed of 250 km/h. It has about 600 horses and it uses an 800-volt feed to juice the batteries back to 80 percent of the claimed 311-mile range in just 15 minutes.
The car has a 2 + 2 seat configuration and is basically a four door sports car that shows the future of Porsche design. The rear doors open backwards, which is a first fr a Porsche and it shares a lot of other design cues with the 2014 Porsche 918. Porshce says it's one of their most advanced cars yet, let's hope that they deliver what they present.
