BMW E30 HDR Photoshoot in the Wild Open - Dolphin-Grey Metallic

Let's just start right of with this first shot above. It represents so much of what HDR can achieve that it almost jumps out of the screen at you, talk about emulating 3D. Admittedly the surrounding landscape (greyish blue to yellow to orange skyscape in sunset, green grass and yellow fields in addition to the clouds, nearby tree and grey pavement) while almost artificially perfect offers a great backdrop to the car which serves as motive.

The scene was so unique that it begged for a down low pavement perspective shot:

Moving to the rear 3/4 perspective the BMW late 80s signature paint shows of all its shady brilliance with the setting sun reflecting off of it:

While at the same time retaining the deep dark grey in off-light contrasting shots:

The opposing side offers a nice greenish spectrum which concludes our 'dolphin-grey metallic' walk around covering every single shade of color this paint has to offer:

I admit I wasn't the greatest fan of this color when I bough the car as I was coming off two consecutive E30s painted in 'Salmon-silver-metallic' which in and of itself is still my favorite of all:

This car above is VIN #3541187. I bought it in 2008, put over 100.000km on it, it was a faithful companion from day one. Ultimately it ended in the crusher and every part that was stripped off of it has found its way into this new body because it corroded away to such an extent that salvaging wasn't an option. That said, it still hurts.

Either way...E30 for life.

Nice car and nice pictures !! In my country there are plenty of these at very reasonable prices !! They actually use them for drifting (they modify its internal electronic chip)
