Subaru Forester 2018 Review & Road Test

in cars •  6 years ago

This weeks review car is the SUV by Subaru, the Forester, powered by the formidable Boxer engine.

The model we tested was a 2 litre petrol model with the SVT gearbox, an auto box with paddle shifts and don’t forget that symetrical AWD system.

The SUV starts at just over £26,000 and comes with a lot of tech and functionality for that very reasonable price.

Firstly and this is impressive you get Subaru eyesight adaptive cruise control with collision detection provided by two HD cameras, in addition to that auto lights and rain sensing wipers too.

Economy wise, the large SUV is rather economical, and that’s thanks to the SVT gearbox which makes driving smooth and shuns harsh acceleration, aiding economy, on a 500 mile trip we averaged 45 mpg.

The cabin features the classic display with air con and cars settings above the infotainment system. The interior is leather and very comfortable the front seats are electrically operated and heated.

The vehicle is very spacious and even has a memory function on the power tailgate.

Overall a very well priced SUV, capable of adventuring whilst towing, economical and very spacious.

Did you like the eyesight monitor system? Any major improvement to the previous Subaru system?

In the video we rave about it, over 7 days it performed admirably in normal driving. Never experienced the earlier version though.
