Being a fan of the Transformers cartoon I would have preferred Bee be a Beetle. I love muscle cars, but the Camaro never really fit. They had so many characters that could've been the new Camaro.

That's a great point - there are so many others that could have been a new Camaro.
As Bumblebee was originally a Beetle, it would have paid homage to the cartoons that came before.
