Life with shadow

We got shadow in May of 2015. Growing up I didn't have pets so i wasn't a fan of pets at all in the house.My oldest son needed to have surgery on his sinus who at the time was around 11 years old and begged for a kitten for a surgery gift.I ingored his resquest and kept asking him if something else would do. But my son had his heart set on getting a kitten and was determined. He begged everyday till i gave in.We started looking around for a animal shelter. Being from south eastern Kentucky there wasn't one around.So we drove 40 mintues away to the closest animal shelter. My husband and myself talked before going in and agreed on which ever kitten came to us first when the door opened was the kitten that we would adopt and bring home.

As soon as the animal shelter employee opended the door this cute little black kitten with a white spot under his chin came running out of gate he was in and came to my son. We just knew he was the one that was meant for us to adopt .We held him tight and wasn't letting go.He just had to come home with us and become the fifth member of our family.We named him Shadow from the moment we met him.And the love for him was instant.

Since that day our love for Shadow has grown so MUCH! I couldn't imagine our family without him now.

When we first came home with shadow it was definitely a learning experience for us all. Shadow was so scared of us that the moment that we came home he ran and got under the bathtub and hid. After that he would hide under beds,tables,and even behind the washing machine.

As the days went on Shadow became more and more comfortable with the four of us and we did him. Our love for him only grew with each passing day.

Nowadays Shadow definitely isn't scared of us and loves to hang out with us.

*Water from the sink ONLY
*His girlfriend (A stuffed animal)
*Chasing a bottle cap lol
*Laser pointers
*Sleeping
*He loves to creep at you (stare you down)
*Loves to look outside
*His brothers
*Watch tv
*Gravy
*Fuzzy blankets
*He loves to hide inside the washing machine & dryer
*His daddy!
*Back rubs

Here are some things Shadow doesn't like

*Anything tuna or fish flavor
*His water bowl lol
*Anyone new coming into the house
*A new brand of cat food or litter
*Baths

Its definitely safe to say that Shadow has grew on me. I dont know what i would do without my lovebug. <3!
