The San Sebastian Cathedral is located in front of Bacolod City public plaza. This morning I visited the well known cathedral. Then I go directly inside to pray and thank GOD for giving me this new day. During that time there is a communion ceremony happening inside. After my prayer intention I started to walk around while taking some photos on the said cathedral.
This our Lady of black Nazarene is located at the right ally of the church where many of the devotees praying on her. Most of the people who pleads and pray to her grant it, even I can testify that it is true. Actually I don't asks for impossible things but there ones that I could still remember she grant that pleadings of mine. The black Nazarene is secured with swing door railings and there is padlock as well. I notice when it was my first time their, most of the people use the padlock to knock three times before they start praying and do it again after you end your prayer. Because according to one of the devotee I asked many years ago the our lady of black Nazarene will answer you prayer if you give courtesy and that is by knocking before and after your prayer.
During your payer you can lit your candles beside of the black Nazarene where you can find this candle steel platform. The intention of you prayer depend on the color of the candle. You can asks the vendor of religious figures and candles near beside the gate entrance of the cathedral. They are knowledgeable about the what they can suggest or anything you want to know about your prayer intentions.
Some of the people who went to the Cathedral prefer to pray silently and solemnly. There is a prayer house located at the back ally of black Nazarene. The prayer house have approximately 10-15 chairs and desk where you can comfortably kneel because of the built in cushion. If the these chairs are occupied you can stand at the back while praying or you can wait other devotee to finish before enter the Prayer House.
These religious photo frame of 3'oclock habit is displayed before entering the gate entrance of Prayer House. Many of the devotee leave their offerings and mostly are flowers. In local channel every 3'oclock in the afternoon they advertise the 3'oclock habit prayer and even in some local radio stations.
at the ally where this frame of 3'oclock hobbit is displayed you can see this religious figures aligned and many of the people also chose to pray on them. Like St. Lasalle, St. Joseph, Sto. Nino, Our lady of Fatima these are just samples of religious figures that you can see.
As part of our culture before entering the church we always look for this holy water stand relic. We dip our finger to cleanse it before signing of a cross. Most of the devotee doing this as part of church culture. But in the San Sebastian church they fill it with holy water during Saturday and Sunday mass.
Sorry I cant provide images how the cathedral looks inside, because there is an ongoing ceremony. As sign of respect I prefer not to take photos to maintain the sacred of the said ceremonial mass. If you want to read some history about the San Sebastian Cathedral there are murals or imprints fastened in both corner of the main entrance. Where you can read the history and the previous arch bishop of the said Cathedral. You can also
take a walk within the vicinity there are lots of historical religious figures and relics.
Within the church premises these set of less fortunate people is asking for help/alms. Some of them have serious health complications and they are always their most of the days in order for them to supply their needs for medication. Everyday there are anonymous people giving them food, medication and clothing as well. I witnessed it often times most especially after mass. I discretely took photos on them by zooming the distance capture. That's why the quality of some photos are fuzzy in result.
