1. The salty Cat
It is not advisable to drink the water of the ocean if you get lost in the oceans. The large amount of salt that is present in the water is enough to dehydrate the humans. But cats on the other hand are able to drink sea water. Their kidneys are able to filter the salt in order to rehydrate themselves.
2. They contribute to extinction.
Cats are natural predators. All kinds of cats are really very good hunters. This can also be proved by the fact that all kinds of cats combined together have contributed, in one way or another, in the extinction of 33 different species in total.
3. Smelly paws of the smelly cats.
There are no sweat glands present on the cats. So when they have to cool them off, all they have to do is sweat through the paws. The glands that are present on the paws of the cats are able to secrete a scent, using which, they can mark their territory. So, if you see a cat, walking or scratching its paw, you will now know that it is in fact marking its spot.
4. Energy requirements are huge.
If you own a cat you may already know this. These feline creatures spend 70% of their time sleeping. Now this is a very interesting fact as it reveals that these creatures need a lot of time to restore their energy. They love lying in the sun and being lazy for most periods of time. So whenever you see them enjoying their beauty sleep. Let them be.
5. Disneyland is obsessed with cats.
There are about 200 cats that are owned by Disneyland. While it is true that they love these creatures but their main purpose is totally different. Every night, the staff releases the cats to hunt down all the mickey and Minnie mouse present in the park. This method of employing the cats started in the 1950s. Now the programme has grown a lot.
6. Alzheimer’s is really common among them.
Ageing cats experience something really similar to that of humans. They experience dementia when they reach the age of 8 or 10. They display all the symptoms of dementia. So if you find out that your cat is displaying symptoms like meowing constantly, then you should comfort it by providing at least one extra blanket at night.
