Things kinda escalated (again)

First there was just couple pieces of an old wooden bed that we didn't use anymore. A little bit of hemp rope around it and three shelves. There you go cats. Enjoy!

An idea grew. Three cats, three shelves but every cat always wanted to be on the upper shelves. So we had to make two wider shelves and to support that, second support pole. Dear cat's, enjoy!

But that wasn't enough. Of course there had to be rope around both poles, and a bridge to the windowsill from the west wing. (The wide lowest shelve. The bridge is the blue thingy thing on the left.) And the bridge has to be a lift bridge so that occasionally we can open the ventilation window. So a speedway to the cats from the other side of the wide living room window, over the bridge, jump to the east wing of the cat tree and vigorous climbing up up up! Love you cat's. Enjoy!

Obviously that still wasn't enough. We've had this "one_day_it's_going_to_be_a_cupboard" -frame in the balcony for ages. And I was looking at it like: "This should fit, I think it fits, I know it fits..." And then the frame became part of the cat tree. We should have done couple of holes in it, maybe not for cats to go through but to poke each other with their paws. But let's just leave it like this, wait for some cooler weather and 22 o'clock. Ten pm. That's a good time to start power drilling and keyhole sawing. Such lovely neighbors we have that the idea of revenge has slowly felt better and better idea.

We don't care for lovely decor or fashionable design furniture. This is what goes on behind our TV. Not pretty but hey, anything for our cats! I'm sure they appreciate it as they sleep 22 hours, relax 1,5 hours, beg for food 20 minutes, eat 5 minutes, stalk each others for four minutes and run around for one minute of the 24 hour day. And the one minute running is usually several 5 second episodes after we've gone to sleep.

I'm pretty sure that this cat tree will still grow.

Creative and practical, who could ask for more?
I think you did a great job, your cats seem to be happy with it.

Thanks! They do love to climb and jump to the highest shelf often so that may give some clue that they really do like it. :)

I like that you use material you have lying around, put some energy in it and end up with very happy cats. People should do that way more often.

Oh, you have many faces. Awesome!

Awesome cat tree! Also, it's a conversational piece since there is so much going on. Can't wait for an update!

Me too... One never knows where this thing is going next. If south wing is due, TV has to go.
