I often wonder why i drove around for the first 15 yrs. Without a furry little co-pilot.? The home sickness and lonliness was horrible.
They make me laugh and smile every day. Yell & cuss when they stink up the litter box or puke a hairball on the dashboard.
But never lonely or homesick anymore.

They take distracted driving to a whole new level. But only if you let them. It takes will power and many hours of practice. To minimize the amount of distractions you let get to you. There is no such thing as "un-distracted driving"
We are all distracted to some level.
Definition of hypocrisy and madness..... eyes off your phone, but outdoor advertisements, thousands of billboard signs are just fine.
They mostly sleep while the truck is moving. And if there is any traffic around me at all. I am disciplined enough to block out most distractions.
Heavy traffic, rush hours, bad weather and such. I send them away. They listen to a stern "NO"
Like No dashboard sittin when things get busy.
The real distracted drivers are the ones that look up and see them in the window and bout run off the road gawkin at em.......
