Cannabidiol is also commonly referred to as CBD and has taken the world by storm in the last decade due to it becoming legal in the U.S. and its amazing medical and therapeutic benefits. It is legal to own and sell in all 50 United States when extracted from hemp due to public demand and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from patients, athletes, business people, and most anyone who has tried using the variety of products that CBD comes in.

What is CBD?
CBD is a simple compound found in the cannabis sativa plant and is one of the major cannabinoids extracted from cannabis. There are over one hundred cannabinoids that have been isolated from the cannabis plant. The more commonly known cannabinoid is THC ( tetrahydrocannabinol ) and is the chemical responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis. CBD, on the other hand, is not an active psychedelic compound and actually inhibits the effects of THC.

How does CBD work?
CBD is usually extracted from the cannabis plant using a variety of different methods and then infused into other products making vape cartridges, oils, salves, balms, isolates, concentrates, edibles and tinctures. There are also strains of the cannabis plant that do not contain THC and have large amounts of CBD. Most notably of those strains is one called Charlottes Web. These can be dried and smoked like most of us remember. You can therefore smoke, vape, eat, drink and use CBD in many different ways that suit your requirements. Once CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream it will connect to our endocannabinoid system ( ECS ) to bind to and activate these receptors. Receptors are commonly found throughout our body, namely our immune system, nervous system and brain. By activating these receptors, you will improve and bring into balance many bodily functions such as movement, memory, and appetite, amongst others. CBD may sound like a miracle medicine because of all the illness’ it treats. However the results are because most people have a CBD deficiency. When the body is given CBD it responds positively as the deficiency is resolved.

What are the benefits of CBD?
With CBD directly connecting to our ECS, it is directly responsible for bringing the bodily functions back into balance and because it connectsphoto-1498671546682-94a232c26d17.jpegto our nervous system and brain, CBD has the potential to improve your health and well being. Scientific studies and research are steadily verifying the medical potential of this simple cannabinoid and it has been suggested that CBD has many potential medical benefits for conditions such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic pain management, appetite stimulant and even for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. CBD is also a positive supplement for many diseases such as Cancer, Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Dravnet Syndrome and other chronic illnesses.

How do I use CBD?
Whichever way suits you best. There is still not much information about the correct dosage of CBD while tests and studies continue. It is also illegal to give dosage advice under American law. However, CBD is non-toxic and you cannot overdose from its use. If you have taken too much CBD oil, you might feel tired, a bit anxious, have a dry mouth and may feel dizzy. It takes very large doses to feel these effects. As mentioned above CBD can be taken many different ways from infusing it into different foods, to being vaped in your favorite flavored e-juice. Different delivery systems also have different effects. Eating CBD edibles will take longer to feel the effects while vaping a CBD isolate will have an almost instant effect. Each individual is different and therefore each person has a different capacity for CBD products. The FDA has not yet formulated an RDI for CBD, and there is no official serving size. However, it is generally recommended that one dropper of CBD per day is sufficient for an adult, and this will give you the most value and benefits of CBD.
