MY THURSDAY FAVOURITES CONTEST THEME: MY FAVOURITE HOME DISH

in ccc •  5 years ago

Hello everybody,

We are always out of the house, assisting hubby with his meetings with clients that's why we always dine at affordable fast food resto like Jollibee serving fried chicken and burgers, Chowking serving pork n chicken chinese style but lately because of African Swine Fever they change pork to beef, Mang Inasal serving grilled chicken with unlimited rice, Mcdo serving fried chicken and chicken burgers sometimes at 7elevens quick food boxes.

That's why our blood pressure was abnormal since last month.

Last sunday we just stayed at home, my opportunity to cook what I really like. Cooking Oilless Cauliflower.

The ingredients:
Water alternative to oil, 1 head cauliflower, two carrots, onion, garlic, dash of salt, two tbsp soy sauce, corn starch and black pepper.

Heat the water just like oil then place the garlic

When the garlic is soft, drop the onion

When the onions is a little soft, drop the carrots, add the soy sauce and dash of salt and black pepper, cover it.

When the carrots is soft. drop the cauliflower

When the cauliflower is soft add the combination of water and cornstarch. Cover, simmer until the it thickens. Done.

I ate this with no rice, the cauliflower is the alternative to rice. But, my hubby and son who were carnivorous bought grilled chicken and cook rice for them. They can't stand eating just the vegetables. But for me was already satisfied with the veggies. There should be mushroom in this dish but I forgot to buy.

I was a lacto-ovo vegetarian for 7 yrs before, eating no meat meaning no pork, no beef, no chicken, no seafoods like fish, seashells only plant base alternative. On that years, I seldom catch cold and I felt strong and longer stamina. That was were I crocheted for two days with only 4 hours of sleeping. Enjoying healthy feelings.

Thanks for dropping by...

Oh its like stir fry but without oil. Cool. Thanks for the recipe. The veges must be nice n soft to eat.
Yah, outside food is scary because we do not know what they use to cook them although they taste good. I try not to eat outside food that much too but temptation is hard to resist sometimes.
The diet you were on is interesting. Do you eat eggs and drink milk? Why don’t you go back to that diet since it made you feel good?

If lacto-ovo vegetarian one can eat eggs and can drink milk...but preferably Soya Milk...@marblely on the budget it is costly to for hubby then another for me...
