MY FIRST ENTRY FOR THE CHARACTER DESIGN FOR @ccommons.art logo

@ccomons.art wants a logo, but instead of a single character or design, she wants different characters to form a
Design like this one here

I wanted to create a self love PENCIL-MAN character, since pencil is mostly used in most artwork. So my pencil-man kind of hug himself and smile deeply to himself, with his eyes closed. The inspiration was coined out from one of @dunsky peice.

SKETCH

I'm not really good with sketching, though i have been practicing, i tried drawing for like five times before i finally get something like this.

PAINTING

I start with filling the midtones, i used Adobe Illustrator, it was really kind of difficult for me, because I'm still learning this style, but it wasn't that bad though, i guess.

I started adding shadow and highlights to eyes are, to the nose, and hands. I also put in some details there too, to pop it out.

2.jpg

Here, i added highlights and shadows on the head, its like a shinning eraser right?. I also put in some detail in the mouth and in the upper part of the body.

3.jpg

Here, i added shadows and highlights to the lower part of the body, added highlights and shadows to the face and hands, also i added more details to hands to finish it all up.

With the background; i didn't really put in more energy here, i thought since its a ccommons art you can do with the background as you want.
