You may think that space seems dark at night because it is at that moment when our face on Earth is far from the Sun when the Earth rotates on its axis every 24 hours. But what about all those other suns distant than the stars in the night sky? Our own galaxy, the Milky Way, contains more than 200 billion stars, and the entire universe probably contains more than 100 billion galaxies. I imagine that many of the stars will illuminate the night as it happens during the day!
Not only does the universe have a finite size, but it also has a finite age. I mean, it had a beginning, just like you and me. The universe, both finite and finite in age, is full of wonderful views. See some bright and beautiful images of distant galaxies against the darkness of space.
