Greetings friends Steemians, this is my theme for #celestialchallenge: "Crops in school gardens".
The development of agriculture in a country is of great importance for the food security of its citizens, and this must be part of the culture of our peoples, so it is necessary to include in the educational programs, activities related to agriculture, Starting from the early school stages, so that the child grows loving the plants and the earth.

In educational programs, it is important to include topics related to the parts of a plant and its forms of propagation, to then bring this theoretical knowledge to practice through the so-called "school gardens",

A child looks beautiful a flower or a rose simply because of its colors, there are plants that do not enjoy these attractions but give us foods like carrots, beets, wheat among many others that provide us food, it is for this. why it is necessary to disseminate issues in schools about how plants provide us with food.

What are the crops in school gardens?

Steps for the development of a school garden

  • Have an area of land inside the school

  • Calculate an area measuring 1 meter wide, the length will depend on the number of plants

  • Stir the soil well leaving it quite loose at a depth of 25 centimeters

  • There are two forms of sowing, direct and by transplant

  • Directly, the seeds are placed in rows, depositing these seeds in holes to a depth of 1.5 centimeters, in the case of the beans a separation of 30 centimeters is recommended, if we want to plant some vegetables such as carrots or beets the seeds that are distributed in rows with a separation of 15 centimeters and then we cover them with a thin layer of earth with a thickness of 1 centimeter.

  • If it is by transplant, we make a small seedling in germination trays and when the seedlings reach a height of 10 to 15 centimeters, we plant them in the garden.

  • It is important that children know about the crops and for this it is necessary to teach them the entire vegetative cycle of the plants, from germination to the fruitful stage.

Without crops there is no food, that is why we must stimulate people with educational programs to have a productive culture in our fields.
