CELF Community + Curation, Calling All Creatives!

CELF

As part of my continued involvement in the #sndboxsummercamp, I have chosen to work with a great team on a project called CELF

What is CELF?

CELF is a Bilingual (English + Español) Decentralized Art and Culture Curation Project founded in March 2018.

Created by @joedukeg and his team under the account name @celfmagazine in the final quest of the #sndbox summer camp, CELF was chosen as one of three projects to be incubated over the summer.

I am happy to be working on this project, and I'll tell you why.

For starters, check out this mission statement:

To build a model of community and decentralized growth in the Steem Blockchain in order to reward artists and reinforce the cultural value that art can bring to society.

I am a huge supporter of the arts and artists here on Steemit. Musicians I have met on the blockchain have inspired me to create in ways I never have before. By giving me a new freedom, the freedom of creative expression through writing and making art and music, new doors have opened and changes have been set in motion. By showing me their true selves these musicians/artists/creatives have helped me open my mind and heart to who I really am.

Supporting the community of artists here on Steemit will always be close to my heart, I want to help these people shine and succeed.

CELF does too.

CELF Objectives:

• Social curation + content curation in STEEM:
  We do curation and give upvotes to articles of visual arts, plastic arts, scenic arts, music and literature that meet quality standards according to the criteria of curators.
• Original Content
• Quality in the structuring of the Post (Markdown) and way of exhibiting your Art, depending on your category
• Zero Plagiarism
• Cite sources correctly
• Evaluation of grammar, drift and use of literary language that can enhance artistic content.

The CELF curators aim to interact with the content creators by leaving comments was well as upvoting, and are working on a model of Social Curation which is to be announced.

CELF's First Writing Challenge

For CELF's First Writing Challenge our team and the guiding forces at #SNDBOX are calling all creatives to put their skills out there and create a written piece from one of the themes below:

-Determination - a theme about overcoming the odds
-Fairy Tales - a theme about childhood stories
-Nature - a theme about the natural world around us

We encourage you to write a poem, a long form or short story, even a real life experience written out creatively. Show us the depths your imagination and explore your creativity!

Contest Duration:

The contest began with this post from @sndbox July 16th (12:00PM EST) and will last for seven (7) days. Any entry received after the July 23rd deadline will not be considered.

Winners + Prize:

There will be five winners selected by our team of judges. The prize for the five winners will be varying percentages of @sndbox upvotes and an opportunity to have your works illustrated by artists commissioned by CELF in partnership with sndbox.

-1st Place: 50% @sndbox upvote
-2nd Place: 25% @sndbox upvote
-3rd Place: 25% @sndbox upvote
-4th + 5th Place (Honorable Mentions): 10% @sndbox upvote

Guidelines

-Content must be author's original work (and not published anywhere else)
-There should only be one entry per author. Multiple entries are not allowed, even though they fall under different literary genres.
-All entries must be submitted no later than seven (7) days after the announcement post was published (7/16/2018)
-All entries must be posted under the lead-tag #celfchallenge
-Winners will be expected to make a follow-up post, telling us about the inspiration behind their works. This will be the post receiving the @sndbox upvote.

I've already been pleasantly surprised by some gorgeous works of literary art created for the contest, and hope to see more great entries roll in during the next five days!
