All this internet "censorship." What's really going on?

Is it possible that there is a concerted effort (yes, by those same interconnected tech companies) to force government regulation upon themselves?

Sounds crazy! Why would they do that?

Simple.

The status quo push-back since the election loss has been an utter failure; perhaps in their minds dramatic steps must be taken to regain the initiative. So, the decision was made that the very same arbitrary minimizing/censorship actions, i.e., the sanctioned muzzling of alternative views, could be attained "officially" via the implementation of stringent, government regulations so that the status quo might again have an unchallenged platform to promote the "accepted views."

Unlike the already achieved wholesale purchase and control of the "brick and mortar" media companies (newspapers, corporate news channels, "Hollywood," etc.), the six major, interconnected companies in control of those "media giants" are unable to financially acquire the various and sundry purveyors of the alternative views, therefore their incestuous relationship with government must be activated in order to win that "information war" of which Hillary Clinton has previously bemoaned the loss.

If this analysis is anywhere near accurate, then the question is demanded: Are there complicit elements within the "alternative" that are willingly acceding to and, in some cases, pushing the envelope to be "taken down" in order to facilitate this?
