Music visualisation in Blender

in cgi •  8 years ago

This week's Blender journey has involved particle systems and audio processing.

Blender can take an audio track and perform frequency analysis on it for any specified frequency range. It then produces an animation track which can be used to drive whatever you want, e.g. an object's size, position, rotation, or any other parameter you like.

For my quick test I used the audio to drive the strength of a set of particle systems. Each "fountain" was driven by a different frequency range to give some nice variation between them.
