Chainium - Equity Markets Reinvented
Chainium is a project that will use the blockchain to disrupt the global equity market by allowing any business to sell shares of equity.
Investment Prototype
The team has recently released the prototype of the investment app and we are going to present an overview of what it looks like and how it works. If you are interested in a full overview of Chainium please read the overview here.
Portfolio Page
After logging into the app, that we downloaded from the google play store, you are brought to the portfolio page as scene below:
The portfolio page lists the amount of money that the investors investments are currently worth and can display returns over specific periods of time. In this example the user has bought equity in far firms including Cargill, Fidelity, Hilti and Mclaren. These are just examples for the prototype.
The menu button on the top left allows the user to edit their profile, return to their portfolio or view current offers. We are going to view current offers.
Offers Page
The Offers page allows the user to scroll through current investment options. It displays how much of the available equity has been purchased, what the price is, and allows for extra details to be displayed.
The Details page provides a more in depth look at the company that is offering equity. In this case it displays the number of employees and a short synopsis of the firm.
When a user chooses to invest in a project they must input the amount of equity they would like to purchase or provide the amount of money they are willing to invest. After agreeing to the terms & conditions the user is asked to verify their purchase.
When the purchase is verified the user is taken back to the portfolio page where the new investment is reflected.
Overall
The prototype is very simple to use and does exactly what Chainium sets out to do. The prototype is free to try and available from the google play store.
