Chainium - Rebranding Analysis
Chainium is a project that will use the blockchain to disrupt the global equity market by allowing any business to sell shares of equity. The tea is preparing for their tokensale and is attempting to raise $8 million to power their project.
The website is the first impression for prospective buyers and Chainium (along with many other cryptocurrency projects) needed a massive makeover. The original website appeared to be built from a dated Wordpress template that was posted without the use of a marketing team.
The new site and branding are excellent and convey a strong message to readers. The clean layout and simple color scheme highlight important messages and provide easy to read information.
The Logo
Let's look at the logo redesign. The logo symbol actually remained the same but the blue and orange color scheme has been revoked in favor of a simple white and black execution. The new font choice on the project name is the biggest difference.
The new font is more friendly and inviting, the curves are all cozier. The slightly thicker and stouter letters modernize the font in a subtle way. The circular dots over the lowercase "i" transform the project into something that is inclusive of the user. The previous square dots signal "technology" or "finance" which is appropriate for this project but every project in the blockchain space is about technology and many focus on finance.
The Landing Page
The new landing page is bold, yet simple. The stark black mixed with the orange text works to amplify important messaging. The absence of the ever popular blockchain lines allows the reader's eye to find the text easily.
The Message
The new site answers many questions that prospective customers have including: What does Chainium do and who is the intended user? The simple icons and bold statements serve the purpose of giving readers enough insight into the project to decide whether they would like to delve into the white paper or not.
Additional graphics in this section explain that the project is intended to allow users to purchase equity in businesses via a phone app.
The Roadmap
The new roadmap continues with the black and white theme. The clean white lettering is well spaced and provides an effective visual on what the project intends to do in the near future.
The Team
The new team page (below) is a simplified version of the original blue theme. Although the text is smaller it is easier to read and the orange text highlights the position of each team member. The amount of space used by the new setup is approximately 1/3 less than the orginal.
The Token Sale
This information is the most important for prospective token buyers and must be easy to read and has to provide all of the needed information. The redesigned info table is smaller, yet more spacious and more legible than the original.
Overall
The rebranding of this project was very effective. The site redesign transformed the project from something that looked makeshift into a polished fintech brand. When attempting to raise $8 million the first impression is your website. This website will not be turning any prospective buyers away.
