This study was carried out to identify the challenges of teaching political science education in Nigeria. To elicit pertinent information for the purpose of the study. A structured questionnaire was face validated by three experts. The data was collected from 50 respondents which are made of 25 teachers from the 2 schools sampled for the study including male and female. The data collected was analyzed and calculated with mean and standard deviation. The study found out that lack of required number of qualified, skilled and experienced political science professionals, poor funding of political science education programs, poor institutional materials, poor research attitudes are cogent factor which this study tends to investigate. The researcher recommends that government should provide political science education professionals and other institutional materials to the schools.
