Scurvy symptoms can include fatigue, weakness, swollen and bleeding gums, joint and muscle pain, and skin rashes. In severe cases, scurvy can lead to anemia, edema, and even death.

Other disorders associated with vitamin C deficiency include impaired wound healing, decreased immune function, and an increased risk of infections. Additionally, vitamin C deficiency has been linked to an increased risk of developing certain chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and cataracts.

It's important to note that vitamin C deficiency is rare in developed countries because vitamin C is found in many foods, including citrus fruits, strawberries, kiwi, broccoli, tomatoes, and bell peppers. However, people who consume a restricted or unbalanced diet, such as those with alcoholism or anorexia nervosa, may be at higher risk of developing vitamin C deficiency.
