우리는 흔히 사람의 행동이나 성격을 보고 그 사람 변했어라고 이야기하기도 하고, 어떤 이유로 얼굴색이 변했다면 얼굴색이 변했다고 이야기한다. 또 문어나 카멜레온을 보고 주변의 환경에 맞게 몸의 색이 변했어라고 이야기한다. 진화론적 관점에서는 환경에 적응해 살아남는 방식이 길게 봤을 때의 변화일 수 있다. 이와 같이 변화에 대한 예시는 다양하며, 흔히 사용하고 있는 용어 중 하나이다.
이 책에서는 변화가 가진 다양한 의미 중, 변해가는 환경에 내가 적극적으로 변화하는 방법에 대해서 이야기한다.

우화 속의 치즈는 상해가며, 소비할수록 줄어들며 이를 통해 환경이 바뀌고 바뀌는 환경에 적응하기 위한 방법으로 새로운 치즈 창고를 향해 갈 것을 변화로 이야기하고 있다.

[현대사회의 변화에 회사가 대응하는 자세]
회사는 이윤 창출을 목적으로 사업을 하는 단체이다.(물론 기업의 형태에 따라 조금씩 다를 수 있다.)
돈을 목적으로 한다는 것은 돈의 흐름에 따라 변화해야 한다는 것이고, 결국 돈의 흐름에 따라 변한다는 것은 소비자의 욕구(다수 or 소수)에 따라 변해야 함을 의미한다.(대부분 다수의 소비자에 따라가는 듯 보인다.) 시대와 기술은 사람이 나아가기 원하는 방향으로 나아가며, 성장하고 있다. 이것은 자연스레 삶에 반영되어 사람들이 원하는 것이 되고 더 성장한 방향의 것을 원하게 한다. 우리 시대의 변화는 이렇게 일어나고 있다고 생각한다. 회사가 변화에 대응하기 위해서는 결국 사람들의 욕구에 맞춰 변화해야 한다는 것이며 이러한 변화를 따르기 위해서는 앞으로 나아가는데 방해(비효율적이고 비생산적인 활동)가 되는 것은 제거하고 개편해야 한다. 현대의 개인들은 취업에 앞서 사회와 회사의 이러한 니즈를 알아야 할 것 같다는 생각이 든다. 회사는 이윤을 위해 변화하려 하겠지만 회사의 의도와 다르게 발전하지 못하고 해내지 못하는 인원이 발생한다면 회사와 운명을 함께하기는 힘들 것이라 생각한다.
결과적으로 발전의 속도가 빨라짐에 따라 학습하여 함께 변화하지 못한다면 어느새 구조조정의 대상이 되어있을지도 모를 것이다.

지금까지도 그랬지만, 앞으로의 사회에서는 학습력이 더욱 강력한 무기가 되지 않을까하는 생각을 해본다.

회사는 변화 대응반을 만들어 운영하는 것이 어떨까? 국가는 사회 변화에 따라가기 위해 어떤 노력들을 하는가? 인재를 길러내는 학교의 경우 코딩 교육을 의무화한다는 이야기가 나오고 있지만 아직까지, 큰 변화의 조짐은 느껴지지는 않는다.
