Unfortunately, I've got the same experience with Changelly. My last conversion from Steem to SBD took about 12 hours while a transaction on the Steem blockchain is confirmed within 3 seconds. One week after that they responded to my ticket to let me know my transaction was completed.

I'm not using Changelly anymore. @blocktrades is way faster and has good support.

Dear @penguinpablo, our apologies for the delayed support answer. Unfortunately we are experiencing some growing pain, as exchange volume has increased 10 times in a just few days a few weeks ago, and still huge! Or support is heavily overloaded, but recently we have increased our team. It should give you the better service! In case of any urgent issues, feel free to reach us directly at facebook or twitter. Hope you will stay with Changelly! thanks.

Thank you for the response. I appreciate it.
Good to hear the support team has been increased.

Changelly, I could use help from your support as well. My transaction is in limbo, too. The send from my wallet was fine, but the receiving wallet never received anything. CAn you please have someone from your support contact me to help as well? Transaction A7B77F72768D now shows that "the payment was not received" but I can definitely see that it is no longer in my Stellar XLM wallet.

Damn. Guess I've just been lucky so far then, thx for the comment

From my experience:
@changelly is very cheap.
I suggest to send your steem or any altcoin to popular trade platforms such poloniex, bittrex and ask anything you want.
The best way to exchange your BTC with fiat currency is creating an account on localbitcoins.com.

Thanks for your kind words! Blocktrades is a build in exchange service for steemit. That's why many people not even realise, that there is an option with better rates.

I started using changelly because I've been screwed over dozens of times by shitty alt exchanges over the years and I just don't wanna deal with the drama. Guess I'm back to poloniex now - I already use localbitcorns to swap into AUD

Localbitcoins is the best place you can meet traders with highly reputation, you are not going to release your Bitcoins until the person send your money. Don't trade with such sites that offer low prices like @blocktrades.

Yeah .. I'm a trader with a "highly reputation" there for about 4 years now, I get it :P
I don't have a problem with blocktrades, but I wouldn't say they offer low prices either..

It's up to you. My duty is to inform you.

K, start informing whenever you're ready :P
So far you've told me:

  • LB exists (I've used it for 4+ years already)
  • changely and blocktrades have "low prices" and that's why I shouldn't use them .. (wrong * 2)
  • I can send altcoins to exchanges to trade (true, but not new info to anyone)

I'm not sure if theres a language barrier here, but you haven't actually shared any useful information here.

Thanks anyway, appreciate the effort but I've been doing this for a while now and I've got the basics :P

KK, my intention was to help people who seek for new information. Just take it or leave it.

Transfers always make me nervous. Something like this would probably put me in a panic! So glad to hear this was resolved @ausbitbank

Still using ShapeShift and prefer it over all other options. For @blocktrades to be viable IMHO there needs to be (1) higher volume and liquidity on Bitshares and subsequently (2) More coin options. Due to a wide spread, the chances of getting a good deal through Blocktrades is marginal, unless someone can point out otherwise.

Yeah the spread on blocktrades is what put me off, changelly rates were slightly better last I checked.. I just wish shapeshift supported SBD as well as Steem

Dear @ausbitbank, our apologies for the delayed transaction. We were upgrading our wallet before the STEEM hard fork, unfortunately our processor missed a few blockchain transactions during the update. Finally I see your payment was provided manually by our support team. Now STEEM/SBD should work properly. Hope you will stay satisfied by our service further!

Thankyou for the response, I'm happy to keep using it for smaller transfers because its so quick and convenient usually :)

I like that they're another crypto currency business but whoever thinks they're comparable to @ShapeShift is way off. Sign-up (and verify and blabla) vs Just-fucking-do-it. No comparison - ShapeShift wins.

btw This is what I get for signing up - https://www.reddit.com/r/dashpay/comments/62nzst/very_unhappy_with_poloniex/ @ShapeShift for-the-mutha-fucking-win

What the hell, polo requires selfies now ? Sigh I miss the earlier wild-west days of crypto where nobody bothered with KYC and it was frictionless and easy to do anything. Now it's regulated AF and slooow :(

I never signed up or verified, it works the same as shapeshift except it supports SBD which shapeshift doesn't .

Interesting... That wasn't the impression I got when I checked the site out the other day...

Are we looking at the same site? This is what I saw the first time too...

Shit you're right, I get the same thing when I use a diff browser. Must have signed up at some point and forgot, my bad.

Could've sworn the original model was the same as shapeshift tho, not sure when that changed
