Suck it up

I finished using Fusion 360 to redesign my drill press stand to incorporate my vacuum. There's nothing too fancy but it makes things easier having plans to work from. Truth be told this is just a reformed version of my existing drill press stand making it wider. That makes things easier because I only have to cut the front and side pieces and the shelves.

Now that I keep looking at the picture I was thinking about making it longer to incorporate the second half of the vacuum system. I have no idea why I didn't think of that to start with. Oh well, that's why I love Fusion 360, I can make that edit on the fly by changing two variables.

The re-redesign is twice the length as I had it. I had a parameter called BenchWidth which had a value of 400. I called the sides using that parameter but then in the sketch, I simply changed the sides to (BenchWidth * 2) and this gave the correct sizing. Trying to do edits like this in SketchUp I found too difficult but this is a doddle to do in Fusion 360.
