Charles Fuchs, MD, MPH, is the director of Yale Cancer Center and physician-in-chief
of Smilow Cancer Hospital.An internationally recognized medical oncologist who is an
expert in gastrointestinal cancers.
Dr. Fuchs received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1986. He
completed his medical residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he also
served as chief medical resident, and completed his medical oncology fellowship at
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Fuchs also conducts research assessing various treatment regimens and new drugs
for gastrointestinal cancers.
