Chart Your Course Challenge? And Me, With No Compass and a Map From Antiquity

I usually NEVER join these types of things on social media. When there's a question that asks "Who is most likely not to particpate?', everyone who knows me answers with my name. And they're almost always right.

Anywhere else I'd look at this as just another public masturbation looking for a quick fix of dopamine or adrenaline or whatever it is that gives folks a rush online. But on steemit things seem a bit different. I know some of you guys better than I know some of my neighbors. And so much more than most of my 'Friends' on other sites.

It's my respect for you all here on steemit that leads me to answer these questions.

Keep in mind that with my health, I simply do not make these kinds of plans any more. From one day to the next, I never know with any level of certainty how I will feel. It took a few years for me to realize that those times are in my past--the times I could plan the work, and then work the plan.

Nowadays I make plans for the day after the day has begun, after I've learned what that day will allow. I hope for longer term ideas to have their time to be worked into fruition, but I don't count on having the time or the energy to follow through.

I feel like an old trailblazer with an even older map, and no compass. I know if I keep heading the direction I was going, I should eventually get there. But without the tools I used to employ, the journey is a blind one. I can't see the future as clearly as I used to.

That said, let's move on to the questions.

1. What is your Steemit goal? (In one sentence, make it as specific and as measurable as possible)

I want to meet folks, to learn as much as I can about the people in our world today, to find if there's a way I can help make this world a better place through writing.

2. Prioritize these three aspects of Steemit for you: Posting, Curating, Commenting

Posting, Curating, Commenting.

3. Name up to 5 groups/communities that help you to achieve your goal.

@thewritersblock, @youarehope, @msp, @sft

4. Name at least one measurable future goal for: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.

1: Overcome the local impediments to writing again.
3: Make a hefty start to writing Memorago.
6: Be damned near done with writing Memorago first draft.
12: Be finished with editing and looking for a publisher.

5. And because everything should end on a sweet note... name your favorite dessert!

Uhhh.... @trishlarimer.
A never-ending portion, please!

6. Challenge 3-5 people to chart their course!
@negativer
@aksounder
@johnkingwriter
@cizzo
@csbegu

7. Use the #chartyourcourse tag

Well, okay. I will.

Ooo...I've been tagged.

This is not a terrible thing to be tagged on, and I support everything you say here. If nothing else, it's a fun way to try and write creative answers to the easy question.

I like your list @jonknight!

Thanks--I'm still trying to figure out which is the 'easy' question...

That last one seemed pretty easy to me, although I guess technically it's not a question, more of a demand.

Thanks for the tag Jon :)
I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to these these thingies but I will mull this one over.

LOL--Good Luck!
