Positions Collapsing can be a beautiful thing, when it happens to the opponent.

White to play and secure the winning advantage

If you want to try to work it out before reading as the answer is in the game.

The Game

1.f4 e5

A02 Bird Opening: From's Gambit

2.fxe5 d6 3.Nf3 Bg4 4.e3

Okay this move is a bit weird, however the opening is not the interesting part, but this move just drops a tempo probably not the best way to handle the position, but it did give me a position where theory is not available.

4...dxe5 5.e4 Bxf3

If my e3 was weak, then this is not the way to punish that now white is possibly slightly better.

6.Qxf3 Nf6 7.Bc4 Nc6 8.c3 Bc5

I get all the things I want b4 is for free now, and then a4 is forcing him to make a move so basically for free again.

9.b4 Bb6 10.a4 a6 11.a5 Ba7 12.d3 O-O 13.Qg3 Nh5

This is okay, but I doubt he chose the correct continuation, have a look at the variation I give that is probably better.

14.Qg4 g6

[14...Nf6 15.Qg5 h6 16.Qg3 Nh5 17.Qf3

Analysis Diagram
He just misplaced the piece in the game, here he also misplaced it, but at the very least he has eliminated the attack I was mounting against his kingside, although it is not completely gone yet.]

15.Bh6 Re8 16.Nd2 Qf6?

Clearly this is a mistake, now the pressure against blacks king-side is critical.

17.Rf1 Qe7 18.Rxf7

This is the stronger way to capture as this forces the queen to sacrifice itself for the rook+bishop, if I had taken with the bishop the king could just step out. [18.Bxf7+ Kh8 White's attack has stranded, he is still better but it is not as obvious.]

18...Qxf7 19.Bxf7+ Kxf7 20.O-O-O

More piece to the attack!

20...Re6 21.Rf1+ Rf6 22.Rxf6+ Nxf6 23.Qf3

No need to hurry, here white is doing fine building the attack.

23...Ke6 24.Be3 Rf8

I think this is not the best, I only looked at Bxe3 but that is also not such a great choice.

25.Bxa7 Nxa7 26.d4

This move is the simplest way to win, building this strong pawn duo in the middle gives white a lot of powerful attacking potential.

26...exd4 27.cxd4 Nb5 28.d5+ Ke7 29.Qe3

This threatens to play Qc5+ which might not be directly winning but it improves whites position a little.

29...Nd7 30.Nc4 Rf1+ 31.Kd2

Avoiding all the knight checks, although they are not possible right now when my pieces moves forward they would be.

31...Nf6

This is probably just a blunder as he is no longer covering c5.

32.Qc5+ Kf7 33.Ke2

Avoid all the rook checks and the knight check is bad since then the rook is dropping.

33...Rc1 34.Ne5+

Yeah the place he put his king had a big problem associated with it. Black resigns.
