Chess problem 58 / Schachaufgabe 58

English

Is your weekend also winter-gray, and are you thinking dismal thoughts? Maybe it helps a little bit to make some coffee or tea and sit down comfortably at your chessboard to let yourself carry off into another world for a while by solving today's chess riddle? :)

As you can easily see, white has a rather big material disadvantage. Is he able to escape nevertheless, or even to win?

Tell me how you evaluate the situation. Which of the following answer is correct (please proof your point of view with the necessary variations!)?

  1. "White is lost, there is no more hope!"
  2. "White can at least reach a draw!"
  3. "That's all wrong: white can actually win!"

Deutsch

  2. "Weiß kann mindestens ein Unentschieden erreichen!"
  3. "Alles falsch: Weiß gewinnt sogar!"

White can at least reach a draw:

  1. Tc8 Txc8
  2. d7 Tg8
  3. d8=Q Txd8
  4. Dxf6+ Dxf6 Draw

Congrats man, you were a few minutes faster! Let's turn that around next time :P

Thank you bro :)

  1. Tc8 Txc8
  2. d7 Tg8
  3. d8Q Qxf4? :)

4.. Qxf6+ Qxf6 Draw again ^.^

OK, OK , haha - easy one, right? But I liked it - I wanted to create a stalemate problem.

Hereby I declare you as winner of this round! :)

It was not easy at all. First, I wanted to create a stalemate with the black tower on b8 but the King could escape by h6, so I got the idea that the black queen ended in f6.
Thanks bro :)

Can you just explain to me how i should read that? I play chess but never understood those codes that you computer guys use to play...

K means King, Q means Queen, R means Rook, B means Bishop and N means Knight. So, if you write Be5, it means that the Bishop moved to the square e5. If you write Bxe5, it means that the Bishop moved to the square e5 and took a piece. Also, the pawns are called by the square where they move or they are, e.g.: b5, c6, d7.
If you want to know more about algebraic notation click here

Thanks, that actually makes sense, i never understood those codes, thanks so much, i didn't even know it had a name (algebraic notation)

Please explain

you are faster

you are faster bro

Wow, that is a beautiful chessboard. I want it for myself hehe :)

@jaki01...
Wow amazing my friend

Weiß gewinnt.

  1. Tc8 Tc8x (Tg8 2.Tg8x Kgx 3. d7)
  2. d7 Td8
  3. Dc7
  1. Tc8 Txc8
  2. d7 Tg8

oh, stimmt :(

  1. Qf6+, Qxf6
  2. d7, Qxc6 stalemate
  1. Qxf6+ Qxf6
  2. d7 e1Q

All of white's pawns are pinned. White's King is not in immediate threat of check, but is in a tight spot; the queen too, so white is in a defensive game here. While my first instinct here, being a gentleman, would be to protect the queen, I'd have to instead go with an unconventional move.

I'd have the foremost free pawn advance to d7. He'll either be taken, or not, doesn't matter. Then rook/tower to c8. Again, he may be sacrificed, doesn't matter. The next move will either have a white rook/tower or a pawn-turned-Queen, or perhaps the Queen herself sitting on the back row--victorious!

Check the solution above ...

Very nice! Good one.

i like chess but am nit export in it.

Just try to improve little by little ...
By the way, you 'forgot' to upvote the article. :)

I learned to play chess two years ago and I like it a lot. I tried to solve your riddles but they are a bit difficult for me :'( I thought about the last one for three days haha. I need to practise more.

Weiß muss also den Turm bewegen:

Sorry..? I do not really understand about this game, but need a little time clarification. I think the white color of the track is pinched white forward two steps forward. white will stop. so I apologize for being so clever. thank you @jaki01

@jaki01 You are going to have to give a chess course so that people who do not know how to play it learn it.

Let's start with the rules. :)

Many better posts & games I like these games a lot. Since the game is not being played for a long time. I'll start this game again. Thanks to this post to attract me to the game

--White can reach at least a draw.

Reason: white can decide to play by the suicide rule. White can take the black queen with the white queen and also lose the queen to that black pawn. From then, the game is squarely even. It can be a draw!

Your post is very interesting friends, friends I upvote

A fun weekend mr @jaki01 let alone can play chess while sitting sweet with a cup of coffee with family or beloved friends. sruppppppp, the sound of warm coffee in mouth is really refreshing. To solve the chess puzzle today, I do not quite understand because I do not know his name in English, the most important in playing chess, sacrifice the people of the king survived. That's how to play, so it takes intelligence and ingenuity. According to my point of view keep the white pawn behind the king to cross the opponent's line to the final so that it can swap with the king's more resilient white aide. I think the white side has a chance to win.

Long text ... but you 'forgot' the upvote. :)
