What is Chibi Fighters?

Chibi Fighters is a decentralized app (dapp) game running on both the Ethereum and Tron blockchains. At the core of this game is your collection of digital assets. The collectibles that you hold in your crypto wallet include the Chibi Fighter characters as well as their weapons. There are several other items in the game (such as armor, potions, gems, etc...) but only the characters and the weapons are bonafide digital assets on the blockchain. In addition to collecting these assets you can play games with them. Some of these games and mini-games are active but in others you send your characters off on adventures and wait for them to come back or set them to battle on automatic in the hunt. There are several ways to earn cryptocurrency playing this game.

Character Fusion

These characters can generate additional characters through a process called Fusion. This is essentially breeding. When you fuse two characters you will generate a new character without losing either of the "parent" characters. This new offspring character has a chance of inheriting traits from the parent characters but there is also a chance the traits could be totally random. The rarity of the character generated has nothing to do with the rarity of the parent characters. These characters also have a Generation number. The offspring character will be +1 gen compared to the largest generation number of the parent characters. Two gen 0 characters will produce a gen 1 character. If you fuse a gen 2 character with a gen 5 character the offspring character will be gen 6. The lower the generation number, generally the more valuable the character.

Ethereum Fusion

I'm going to do a partial walk-through of the fusion process on both the Ethereum and Tron blockchains. First let's start with Ethereum because this is the blockchain that the game began on. First off, you have to understand that the free Chibi Fighter character you get when you initially sign up is not eligible for fusion. You will need to obtain one paid Chibi Monster to start with. In this example I'll be using my Gen 0 character with the traits: Frenzy ~ Frenzy ~ Founder.

Certain traits are more desirable than others and Frenzy is right up there in the top 5 because it dramatically reduces the cooldown time of your character after taking certain actions in the game. This means you can utilize the character more often in the game. A character created through fusion can only inherit the first two traits from the parent characters. The third trait is often used by the game developers to create unique traits that cannot be inherited such as Founder or Early Bird which give small bonuses to people who obtained their characters through the early fundraising efforts. I selected a generation 0 chibi with Frenzy, Frenzy as the first two traits to be the "father."

I clicked the blue button at the bottom and paid my 0.075 ETH fee (80% of this goes to the owner of the chibi) and then waited for the transaction to clear.

Once this cleared I ended up with a new generation 1 Chibi Fighter and 1 weapon for it. There is a cooldown period where you have to wait for your character to become an adult. This is when you will see what it looks like. Mine turned out to be Common rarity with the traits Frenzy, Frenzy, Cleric. I decided to name him Deckard and this is what he looks like:

I intend to use this character to play the game, but there are several ways I could now make money with it. First off, I could simply sell it. Similar characters are listed on the open market for more than I paid to create it so I could probably get a profit. I could also set it for Fusion and collect 80% of the fee whenever anyone pays for a fusion (they will get the offspring if they are the one paying.) Each character can only do so many fusions and the cooldown time in between gets longer each time.

Tron Fusion

The procedure is pretty much exactly the same on the TRX blockchain. My starting character was a generation 0 with the traits Calm, Stormchaser, Early Bird. This is a picture of him:

I found a character in the Fusion Lab that was also generation 0 and had the desirable first two traits Frenzy and Frenzy:

I paid the 250 TRX fee and once the transaction completed and once the character matured, I ended up with a generation 1 character with the traits Calm, Stormchaser, Pyromaniac. I named this one Greyflint.

I hope this helped clarify a few things about the Fusion aspect of this game. It's pretty fun and you can make money if you know what you're doing. What more could you ask for?

I'd like to see the characters you've generated through the Fusion process! Post them in the comments below.
