Chicken butter masala is a rich and creamy Indian dish made with chicken and a flavorful tomato-based sauce. Here's a simple recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 cup tomato puree
1/2 cup heavy cream
Salt, to taste
Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
Heat the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add the onion and cook until it is softened and lightly browned.
Add the ginger and garlic paste and cook for another minute.
Add the chicken to the pan and cook until it is no longer pink.
Add the coriander powder, garam masala, and red chili powder to the pan and stir to coat the chicken.
Add the tomato puree and stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt to taste.
Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve hot over rice or with naan bread.
