I just got back from Rural King with 3 kinds of food I use for my chickens. First is reg. layer, then scratch grains and I had to get some more chick starter for the baby's. My first batch of chicks I hatched have out grown the cardboard box they are in and I need to move them into the brooder pen. I just hatched out a second batch of chicks 2 days ago and they will stay under a light for several weeks till they are ready to move into the brooder pen too. I will get some pics here soon to show you. Thanks, Garden Gnome.
My baby chickens are getting big.

We used to have a rooster that was so mean we had to keep our chicks in a separate pen when they went outside. It took a while before they could all free range together. He kept them protected though and once faced down a fox from 6 feet away so they could run to the coop for safety.
My husband chased the fox away and we haven't seen him since.
Here he is as a youngster:

I had a rooster named king. He really thought he was king. He hated everyone. I had to knock him out about once a month just to keep him inline. Haha
