Chicken vs courage the coward dog

Am I the only one that thinks that those people are jerks for letting them fight?

The dog should get along with chickens and protect them from intruders, not being allowed to fight. I have been living on the country side all my childhood and if an altercation begins, someone(human) imediatelly breaks it off without hurting any animal. That way they will not fight in the future.

Also, dogs are very smart and they learn behavior from humans. At one point in the video the dog looks at the camera to see if the owner actually wants to continue fighting. By allowing them to fight, the owner communicates that the rooster is an enemy and that he(the human) needs protection from the enemy. Also, the human is communicating that the rooster is not part of the family. That is not how you put sheppard abilities in dogs.

I get the point @joendegz it trying to make about courage. But courage doesn't come from the individual alone. It comes from him, when the individual feels supported by it's peers. The rooster was being supported by the other chickens(he was protecting them), the dog on the other hand was protecting the humans, but the humans were not supporting the dog, they were having a good time about it. So the dog felt left out and had less 'courage'. That is why the rooster 'won' :| Not because of the great courage he had.

So maybe what we can take from this video is, be careful not to surround yourself with people that are glad and happy when you are in trouble, because then with all your courage and strength you will still loose.
