- Their website is listed on Google Play as LReady, but that URL doesn't bring up anything. The link to their privacy policy also doesn't work. This concerns me.
App: Android only - Range: Local
- Price: Free for basic services with a Life360 account. The app provides a reduced number of features from the Life360 app with a different appearance.
- Plus: start with a 7-day free trial, then pay: $2.99/mo or 2.08/mo via a yearly fee (saving 30%). It appears to give only 3 of the 9 features of Life360 “Gold”. This offers:
- “Same-day” (within 24 hours) email support
- Priority location updates of where family members are (family members must be in the Life360 circle you set up)
- 30 days of location history for your family
- Unlimited place alerts for any family member
- Basic aka “Driver protect”, start with a 7-day trial: $7.99/mo or a yearly fee that breaks down to $5.83/mo. It provides more of the features of Life360 “Gold”, but still not all of them. In addition to the “Plus” features, you also get:
- 24/7 driver care support by phone for a variety of situations, including navigation, emergency services contact and minor accident support.
- Extended roadside assistance (2 incidences per year, up to $100/, 2 gallons of gas for refueling)
- Driver & passenger protection for everyone in your circle (it doesn’t specify what is provided)
- Crash detection & emergency response (detects an accident, driver is called, emergency services notified if needed, and all emergency contacts will be called if it’s someone else in your circle)
- Safe drive review when a device with the program is onboard (tracks each drive and reports on events, including sudden stops, dangerous phone usage, etc.)
- In short, you are paying for some of what Life360 provides, but not getting other features, such as stolen phone coverage (Life360 silver {$4.99/mo}, gold {$9.99} and platinum {$19.99}), crime reports (same) and ID theft protection and restoration (gold & platinum), not to mention the additional features of platinum. I guess if these are the only features you want, and you can save a few dollars, that’s ok. I’m not an affiliate seller of Life360.

- There are several negative reviews that are bogus or don't even say what they didn't like about Offender Search, and some others that complain about having to give your phone number (etc.) to set up the program. Since the program doesn't tell you WHY it's asking for the data (to connect you to Life360), I can see why people are wary. The first time I loaded the app, it wasn't correctly sized for my screen, so the next button was almost untouchable. Upon reload, it was fine. Within about 12 hours of installation, several of the features, including seeing crimes and perps, were disabled, making this app useless to me for the purpose of learning about perps.
- Last app update: 4/19/2019
- Provided by: Family Safety Production
- Search options: This is a paid feature. Local to map, nationwide, drag to re-orient.
- Results: In order to see perps and crimes: In "Settings" > "Map Options," it includes showing the locations of hospitals, fire stations and police stations, as well as sex offenders. In "Settings" > "Alert Options" you can turn on alerts to crime in your area (up to 1 year before), which can be by phone and/or email. Pins for nearby sex offenders (profile icon) and crimes (star icon) appeared on a map, nationwide range, but the range cannot be adjusted after setup, but you must be zoomed in enough (unknown zoom amount) or it won’t show any pins. It did not seem that it found as many perps as some of the other apps and websites.
- Details given: When I clicked on a pin, it showed me some information about the person (tiny photo, name, address, gender, race, height, weight, DOB and 1 charge that was truncated) or the crime (when and what crime), but I couldn't click on it for more info. In the Google Play description, it shows that its data comes from the State, Tribal and Territorial databases I listed above. This app was the worst in terms of getting details.
- Other features: You can also show where you are (location sharing), add favorite places, invite new circle members, add/switch circles, chat with circle members, see your driving history, crime alerts, and add emergency contacts to alert in the case of an emergency (like the SOS feature of Life360). It will give you an alert if your battery is low - something that most phones already do for free - but you must add at least one person to your circle to do that!
- Setup: It had no menu and wanted my phone number immediately. I noticed on this screen that there was some trouble correctly displaying text. Then a password, email, name and option to add a photo, and it uses Life360 for some of its features. It then wanted me to enter or create a "Family Circle", which is from Life360. You are given a code if you make a circle, which you can share with those you want in the circle, such as your kids, and you are offered free trials additional functions, such as driver protection, notification when someone in your circle leaves a specific location (e.g. school, work), and other functions are available in the Life360 menu. During the set-up of your account, you'll enter your address and there will be a radius indicator that will determine how far from you the app will look for offenders. Once you're done setting up your account, you can use the menu. If you log out, uninstall and reinstall, you can temporarily reactivate the paid features of the first 12 hours.
- Thoughts: It's pretty much a weak copy of Life360: Family Locator & GPS Tracker for Safety. It offers some of the same features but looks different and sometimes truncates or hides information it shouldn’t (programming flaw). It provides information about crimes, but far less information about predators, only gives info about predators within an unstated, non-adjustable (after you set it the first time) radius around you, and is flawed in its display of info. Because it’s a Life360 knock-off with fewer features, has display and other problems, their website is non-functional, and the features I wanted were disabled within about 12 hours, I don't recommend this app. By getting the Life360 app instead, you can get a few (Silver) or more options (Gold and Platinum), as well as it being available for Apple devices, or you can get fewer options from another free or paid app.
