Earlier this month Marriott, famous for their hotels, was bullied into firing one of their employees for apparently likeing a tweet. The tweet in question was apparently from a pro Tibetan liberation group. The original tweet was posted by Marriott and was nothing more than a survey. This survey included Tibet, Taiwan, and a few other controversial “Chinese” territories as regions of origin. This sparked outrage from China who views these territories as their own. This caused China to shut down all internet reservation sites ran by Marriott in China. China used this to compel Marriott to fire the employee in question, who was a social media coordinator living in Nebraska marking $14 an hour. What is even more outrageous is China currently does not allow Twitter inside China, so no one in China could have even seen that tweet.( Exept for VPN) What do you think did the Chinese Communists over step? Did Marriott act appropriately? I don’t know I just report the news!
