Amazing story: A Chinese doctor with no legs help patients wherever they are!

in china •  7 years ago

Li Jung managed to realize her dream of becoming a doctor, although she lost her legs at a very young age. The 37-year-old doctor has been treating patients for 15 years in her hometown of Wadian village, southwest China's Chongqing Province.

When Jung was four years old, she suffered a tragic accident, lost both legs, but did not lose hope in life. She learned to walk and move with her hands and two wooden seats.

Jung did not allow her to discourage her dream of studying medicine. She left her village to earn her medical degree and returned in 2000 to work in the village clinic. Since then, it has treated almost 1,000 villagers and has responded to patients' calls in their homes, where they go directly with the help of old wooden benches.

She was married to a local man named Li Chenyan, whom she had greatly supported in her career, sometimes carrying on her back to visit patients in neighboring villages. It is estimated that the doctor, with the help of her husband, has so far treated a total of 6,000 patients from various villages and mountain areas in Heichuan. She had consumed about 24 seats in the process.
